I have been here four
years and if I had ordered pies from you guys yonks
ago I would have thought I was in Australia...Alas....
I ordered 24 pies and
12 sausage rolls from you over Christmas..
Firstly the packaging
was perfect, the prompt service (well you could tell
you were Aussies ) was up to scratch...and the
contents of the box was out of this world. Pastry was
unreal. I couldn't find fault with one teeny weenie
little thing as I sit here eating a sausage roll and
heating a pie.
Congratulations on such
a fine job........
HAPPY
NEW
YEAR
AND
ALL
THE BEST.
Regards,
Jackie Mager (San
Diego ex: Melbourne of course)
Just wanted to write
and say thankyou,
thankyou and even more
thankyou’s.
Just got my order today of meat pies, had the oven on
straight away and it was wonderful, my 1 year old
thought it was great too couldn’t wait for it to cool
down. Wish I could have had a vanilla slice to follow
but will have to make a trip to Atlanta for that
J.
Your fast shipping and
friendly service was great, is always good to hear a
bit of the home accent.
Thanks again.
Debbie Phillips
Hey guys...
I have just
discovered your cafe on the internet... I will have
to say that next time we are driving through GA to
go to NC... I will make sure the husband diverts to
your store so I can stock up on some meat pies. Just
the pictures alone looked great... made me feel a
little homesick. Any chances of something being
delivered one way or another to Florida? Hey, you
never know your luck in the big city...
Congratulations... Hope to see you all one day
soon... I am just getting SO fed up with subs etc in
this country... give me a good ol' Aussie meat
pie... see ya... Felicity
Great pies ...thankyou
so much for such prompt shipment. love them and
you sure helped to ease a little of the
homesickness.
Im from perth and
been here nearly 5 ys and its been that long since
ive had a pie. so happy that I found your website.
When can we see you
open up closer to Indiana?
you’re the best and
I called all my fellow aussie friends here to tell
them about you.
Nothing can beat an
aussie

Just ordered a
mixed dozen pasties from you. I'm born in
Melbourne, raised in Daylesford, parents live in
Bendigo now (retired), and my 2 sons are in Uni in
Atlanta--1 at GA Tech, 1 at Kennesaw. I'll come
and see you next time I'm down. Actually, I'll
send the boys over for a bite--they've been home
with us a few times and know what your food is all
about. Congrats!

My Mum-in-law rang from SA letting us know about your Aussie
pies. Finally got motivated to track you down after one too many
pieces of bloody fried chicken and way too much grits (which is just
porridge gone wrong)!!! Can't wait to wrap my laughing gear
around a nice pie.
Good luck - hope you make a million bucks off it.

Hey Guys,
Thank you thank you, and, thank you again. I am an "Australian
transplant" and have been living in the US for nearly 6 years. I get a
package from Mum every few months with all my favorite Aussie lollies,
but there's nothing like a piping hot meat pie or flaky sausage roll to
really bring back the taste of home.
I first encountered your bakery last summer at the "Australian Fair" in
Nashville TN, and bought home a few pies... and after they were gone I
kicked myself repeatedly for not getting a few dozen more. This year I
couldn't make it to the fair, so my friends from Nashville snagged me a
few. God bless em'. Anyway... I am just so very happy to know
that somewhere over here there are a few people after my own pie-eating
heart. Keep up the great work!
Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!!
Cheers,
Chammah Fulton

up and realize its not real. see - I'm desperate!

Gidday Mark
Sitting here in the Austrade office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and
one of my colleages was just talking about a CNN report he saw some 3
days ago profiling the Australian Bakery in Atlanta. I put two
and two together and suggested it could only be Mark Allen.
Suzie, Jessica, Tegan & I have been based in Dubai now for the past
two years and have really enjoyed ourself in this town.
Lots of Australian companies doing business here and aside from the 5
months of summer when it regularly hovers between 44 and 50 degrees
Celsius it is a very pleasant climate.
Glad to hear you are back in the baking business and great to see you
getting global media coverage once again.
Please pass on my regards to Wendy.

G'day fellas
I learnt about your shop on CNN here in Shekou (south China) so i
emailed a mate of mine in Sydney who is moving to Atlanta in a couple
of weeks to work for NCR and I told him where to get a decent "dogs eye
with dead 'orse" plus vanilla slice - he will get down there one
weekend soon..... good luck with it.... with all due respect I reckon
you could serve up turd on toast and call it a dead dingo and it would
sell over there at the moment.... regards...jonesy

Hi Guys,
Saw a report on CNN about your shop and found your website via Yahoo.
I'm a Malaysian expat residing in Bangkok, Thailand and there's scope
for an Aussie Bakery here. Do you plan to franchise or expand to places
like Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong where there are a huge number of
resident Aussie expats? In fact some of my best mates here are from Oz.
I'd be interested in franchising or co-ownership if you plan to expand.

Great Stuff!!!
Just watched your story on Channel 10 News - back in Oz - Always good
to hear Aussie Success Stories - especially overseas!!! As a student of
Entrepreneurship i'm inspired by how you have managed to take a icon of
oz abroad and managed to make it a success - the idea is a BUZZ - USP
(unique selling point) -Keep up the good business - cheers

We got our
pies! They were great and even my sceptical American husband
loves them.
We are heading to Florida in early December and I'll be planning on
stopping by for a huge order.
My husband wants to know if you'd like to open a bakery in Kentucky? :)

Goodaye Mate: (Don't get to say that a lot
these days!)
Just a quick e-mail to
tell you that the pies and pasties you shipped to us in Arizona for July
4th were absolutely wonderful. For this Aussie it was a little touch
of home. I'd forgotten just how great a meat pie with sauce can
taste. Just wish I lived close enough to come to your bakery for
lunch and sample a vanilla slice firsthand. Will definitely order
some more goodies in the future. Thanks they were great.

A few weeks ago we did a road trip from our home in Dallas, TX. We went
through New Orleans, Mississippi, Alabama, Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis,
Arkansas and back to Dallas. Total distance was almost 3000 miles.
When we were leaving Atlanta, we dropped into the Australian
Bakery Cafe on the outskirts of town. Ordered a pastie and sausage roll
which were most enjoyable.
Anyway, the person working there picked up on our accents and
called out for the owner, Neville, who was working out the back to come
and meet us. He is one half of the Aussie connection (can't remember the
other guys name, he wasn't there). We had a chat and I found we shared
an interest in the same football team (Richmond).
He originally came from Bendigo, so I asked if he knew my cousin
who also came from Bendigo and was a good local footballer. He knew all
my cousins and my uncle and aunt! I asked how he knew them, and he said
it was because they originally came from Berriwillock and so did he. I
exclaimed that my mother and grandfather also came from Berriwillock.
For those that don't know this is a little town in the Mallee in
Victoria, between Bendigo and Swan Hill. Population of about 10 people,
basically just a wheat silo, hotel, service station and a bakery.
It turns out that Neville's mum and dad used to own the bakery in
Berriwillock, and that's where he picked up the trade. Well, my
grandfather used to live next door to the bakery, and my mum was born
and raised there. I remember visiting there as a kid and I used to go to
the bakery and buy lemon tarts from his parents.
Just goes to show what a small world it is...

Dear Mr Mark, Neville and John
Thank you very much
for the tour of the Australian Bakery. I really learned a lot about
Australia. This afternoon I saw Finding Nemo. They showed Sydney Harbour.
I remembered the bridge that took 5 years to paint . There were also
whales in the harbour! Thanks for all the information (and the
cookies).
Love Katelyn

Aussie, Aussie,
Aussie! (Oi! Oi! Oi!) Thank you so much for setting up shop in the
States! This Georgia girl loves all your Aussie treats! I am married
to a Melbournian and we enjoy getting a taste of home at your bakery.
We were so excited to read that you will be opening up another store in
Peachtree City, just a few miles from where we live!!! You will do a
great business on the "Southside" and we can't wait to be one of your
first customers!
Keep up the good work!
Your true blue Atlanta fans, Amy & Rob

You've made my day. I
just stumbled across a link to your site, from the Australian Festival
site. I'm so excited! :)
I noticed the founders are from Boort. That's where my mum lives. I'm
now in Kentucky, married to an American with a two year old son (who
loves Vegemite!).
