 Australians
are the world's largest consumers of meat pies per capita, with each
person on average consuming over 12 meat pies and a further 17 combined
pastries, sausage rolls, and party pies per annum.
To satisfy Australian's seemingly insatiable appetite for pies and
related products, Four 'n Twenty, one of Australia's renowned pie
manufacturers, has grown from 50 pies a day early on, to a capacity to
bake more than 50,000 pies an hour, making it the largest pie factory
plant in the world.
Now, we at the Australian Bakery Cafe may not be
pumping out pies at that rate, but we are well on the way, with the
taste definitely catching on in the USA. Why not try one for yourself,
we know you won't be disappointed!!
